Samsung is back at it again by releasing new phones in their popular Galaxy A Series.
In this NoypiGeeks specs comparison, we’ll be talking about their newest releases — the Samsung Galaxy A51 and the Samsung Galaxy A71.
First phone in this comparison is the Samsung Galaxy A51. Probably the main feature of the phone is its uniquely L-Shaped quad-camera setup at the back.
Meanwhile, the second phone in comparison is the Samsung Galaxy A71. Like the A51, the Samsung Galaxy A71 also has a unique L-Shaped quad-camera setup at the back. Obviously, this camera design at the back was made popular by the iPhone 11, although the Korean company tweaked it a little bit.

Clearly, you can see that the two phones differ from each other in most of their specs.
Starting with their displays. Though they both have Super AMOLED displays, the Samsung Galaxy A51 has a 6.5-inch screen compared to the A71’s 6.7-inch display size. The two phones are also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 at the front.
Performance-wise, the Samsung Galaxy A71 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chip and the Adreno 618 GPU. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy A51 has a newer Exynos 9611 chipset and a Mali G72 MP3 GPU.
Though the Exynos chip is newer than the Snapdragon one, the latter is still the better option as it has better CPU cores.
On the topic of memory, the Samsung Galaxy A51 has 4GB and 6GB RAM variants while the A71 has a 6GB and 8GB models. Comparing internal storages, the A51 has the 64GB and 128GB configuration to choose from while the A71 only has the lone 128GB variant.
The good thing about the two phones is their capability to expand their storage up to 512GB.
On the subject of cameras, they both have a rear quad-camera set up but they do differ in their main shooters. The Samsung Galaxy A51 has a 48-megapixel main shooter, a 12-megapixel (ultrawide), 5-megapixel (macro) and 5-megapixel (depth sensor) cameras.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy A71 has a 64-megapixel main shooter, a 12-megapixel (ultrawide), 5-megapixel (macro) and 5-megapixel (depth sensor) cameras.
In front, both Samsung phones have a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

When it comes to the battery, the Samsung Galaxy A71 is packing the bigger one with its 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging feature compared to the 4,000mAh and 15W fast charging technology on the Galaxy A51.
Aside from the main features above, the two phones feature an under display fingerprint scanner, a face unlock , USB-Type C connectivity, and a headphone jack.
Last but certainly not the least, let’s talk about the price. Unfortunately, we don’t have the official Philippine prices for the units yet. What we do have right now is the European price. The Samsung Galaxy A51 is said to cost EUR 370 (~Php21,000) while the Samsung Galaxy A71 will be retailing for EUR 470 (~Php 26,600)
Based from the specs above, the Samsung Galaxy A71 definitely takes the win over the A51 thanks to its bigger screen, superior chip, better cameras and its bigger battery. The extra money you’ll be shelling out for the Samsung Galaxy A71 is definitely worth it if you’re originally planning to buy the Samsung Galaxy A51. But in case you don’t need anything high-end, the A51 is also an excellent choice.
