But obviously, it’s not your only option in this category. In fact, OnePlus is facing another great competition from its own sister company. Meet the OPPO Find X2.

As you can see, both the OPPO Find X2 and OnePlus 8 Pro are great devices in their own regard. But, it appears that OnePlus’s latest has more wins than OPPO.
For starters, the OnePlus 8 Pro has a more advanced 6.8-inch OLED screen. This thing has a max brightness of 1300-nits, brighter than the 800-nits of the latter. It also has a 10-bit panel, which can project more colors than the 8-bit screen of the latter.

On the upside, the two do have the same 120Hz fast refresh rate with a 240Hz touch sampling rate for a smoother and more responsive interface.
This type of screen will allow both devices to flex the power of their Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processors, which is the most powerful mobile chipset in the market to date.

Powerusers will also appreciate the 8 Pro’s large 4,510mAh battery — bigger than the 4,200mAh capacity of the Find X2. But with that 120Hz refresh rate running at QHD+ resolution, don’t expect a noticeable difference in battery longevity.
The OnePlus 8 Pro also has 30W wireless fast charging and reverse wireless charging support. The Find X2 lacks both those features but makes up for its ultra-fast 65W fast charging support. That is almost two times faster than the Warp Charge 30T of OnePlus.

Consumers will also appreciate the IP68 water and dust resistant rating of the OnePlus 8 Pro, while the OPPO Find X2 is only rated at IP54 for water splashes.

Oh, and of course, there are the cameras. The OnePlus 8 Pro uses the newer and bigger 48-megapixel Sony IMX689 sensor with the new Omni-directional PDAF technology. Meanwhile, the Find X2 settles for 48-megapixel Sony IMX589.
The 8 Pro also has a sharper 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens, versus the 12-megapixel on the latter. Although, the Find X2 do come with a sharper 13-megapixel telephoto lens.

Other than the sharper 32-megapixel selfie camera, headphone jack, and faster-charging support, it’s clear that the OPPO Find X2 lost this battle.
The brighter and more colorful screen, better rear cameras, bigger battery, wireless charging support and — more importantly — the cheaper price tag, allowed the OnePlus 8 Pro to easily win this battle.

As of writing, only the OPPO Find X2 Pro’s price has been announced in the Philippines. Meanwhile, both the price of the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro have been revealed as well and they are expected to be available for pre-order anytime soon.
