Alcatel is ramping up their portfolio for the next half of the year. Besides the new Idol 5s, the brand also announced the Alcatel A50 and A30 Plus midrange devices to keep their name standing in the industry.

The three new handsets from Alcatel are part of Amazon’s Prime phones. Having this kind of privilege will make the devices’ price lower than usual, but will feature Amazon’s adware and bloatware as a caveat. But don’t worry, as there’s going to be a standalone version, at a slightly higher price.

Let’s start off with the Alcatel A50. This 5.2-inch device is equipped with a 720p display, a decent MediaTek quad-core processor, and 2GB of RAM. It might not have the most powerful chipset of all, but it can be sufficient enough to handle day-to-day tasks and casual gaming.

The Alcatel A50 has a 5-megapixel and 13-megapixel cameras in front and back, respectively. Other highlights include 4G LTE connectivity, 16GB of onboard storage, and an acceptable 2800mAh battery.

But if you think Alcatel will let the A50 to be as boring as that, you’re wrong. This handset features modular attachments, something similar to Motorola’s Moto Mods. Currently, there are only three mods that are compatible with the A50. There’s the LightUP SNAPBACK that provides a light show at the back of the phone. It also provides visual exhibition when you receive notifications.

There’s also the Sound SNAPBACK that features two 2.5watt stereo speakers. And lastly, the Power SNAPBACK that acts like, you guessed it, a power bank.
