After Lenovo shut down its gaming phone business and Xiaomi’s Blackshark was rumored to be having troubles, ASUS comes in to give hope to mobile gamers by releasing the new ROG Phone 7 and 7 Ultimate.
Both the new ASUS ROG Phone 7 and 7 Ultimate are powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
They also come with an improved GameCool7 cooling system that now offers 10% better thermal efficiency thanks to the dual graphite sheets a Boron Nitride layer, and a Rapid-cycle Vapor Chamber.
What makes the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate special is the new AeroActive Portal on the back, which mechanically opens when you attach the new AeroActive Cooler 7 for much more effective cooling.
The said AeroActive Cooler 7 comes free with the Ultimate comes with buttons for extra controls and a 5-magnet super linear subwoofer for louder bass.
Going back, the duo has AirTrigger ultrasonic shoulder controls for a better gaming experience. The duo also has ray-tracing support on select games that offers more realistic water and metal reflections.
The duo then has 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED screens with 165Hz refresh rate, 720Hz touch sampling, and 1500-nits peak brightness. They also have 6,000mAh batteries that were split into two for better cooling, 65W fast charging, and an IP54 rating for being splash resistant.
They also have an acceptable camera setup led by a 50-megapixel IMX766 sensor, 13-megapixel ultra-wide, 5-megapixel macro, and a 32-megapixel sensor on the front.
The new ASUS ROG Phone 7 and 7 Pro have a starting price of EUR999 (~Php61,100) and EUR1,399 (~Php85,600), respectively. They are now up for pre-order in Europe and Taiwan, with the release details in the Philippines yet to be known.
