ASUS has announced two new mid-range smartphones, the ASUS Zenfone Max Shot and Max Plus M2, which are the first phones to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon SiP 1 and developed by the ASUS Brazil team.
The new ASUS Zenfone Max Shot and Max Plus M2 will offer a 6.26-inch FHD+ IPS display, with the latter sporting a triple camera setup on the back, with one of them having a wide-angle lens.
As for the storage, the Max Plus M2 will come in 3GB RAM with 32GB storage. It will feature a 12-megapixel rear camera and an aluminum casing. The device will come with a generous 4,000mAh battery capacity similar to ASUS Zenfone Max M2.
On the other hand, ASUS Zenfone Max Shot will be available with their 3GB or 4GB of RAM with an option between 32GB and 64GB of storage. It will also boast a 12-megapixel with 5-megapixel sensor combo rear camera. All of which are caged in an aluminum chassis.
Both devices will run on Android 8, with the Pie update coming in the next months.
Of course, we have these device’s main highlight, the Qualcomm SiP 1 processor, which is identical to the Snapdragon 450 (1.8GHz, octa-core, Adreno 506 GPU). But unlike the traditional SoCs (system-on-chip), SiP (system-in-package) crams all the components on a single circuit. This will help have a few spaces on the internals, allowing engineers to put add other hardware.
