The new ZenPad S 8.0 tablet from Asus can now be had for $199.
Well, you can have one in the US (and have it delivered here in the Philippines). Best Buy is already selling the Asus ZenPad S 8.0 for the aforementioned device, with some other stores such as B&H and Adorama putting the device up for pre-order.
Per the official announcement last month, the Asus ZenPad consists of several varieties of tablets. The S sub-series currently have two models, both of which have 8-inch displays and are powered by Intel Atom processor. They further vary according to RAM and internal storage options.

Available in black and white colors, the Asus ZenPad S 8.0 offers DTS HD premium sound and Sonic Master technology. Every purchase comes with a lifetime 5GB online storage on Asus’ cloud service, with an additional 11GB for the first year.
The Z580C model offers similar specs, but has a slightly underpowered Intel Atom Z3530 processor. Its front- and rear-facing cameras have 2- and 5-megapixel resolution, respectively.
One of the accessories for the Asus ZenPad S 8.0 is the Z Stylus. It offers precise input for natural writing and drawing with its 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity and 1.2mm writing tip.
The listed $199 price in Best Buy is for the Z580C model with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. The pre-order in B&H offers the Z580CA model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage.
Philippine availability and pricing still remain unknown at this point.
