Just as we predicted last month, Asus has launched its new line of Android tablets. The tablets are collectively called the Asus ZenPad and come in several sizes. A beefed up version is also available and called the ZenPad S 8.0.
The smallest option for the Asus ZenPad has a 7-inch display. It’s followed by the 8-inch option, while the 10.1-inch size is the biggest. Depending on the screen size and model you get, the Asus ZenPad offers the Z Stylus, LTE/3G connectivity and phone functionality. Some models are also Wi-Fi only. Each screen size comes in several models, allowing you to choose “luxury on your terms.” In other words, the Asus ZenPad is available across several price points much like the ZenFone 2.
But the one that has really garnered the attention of the press is the Asus ZenPad S 8.0 (pictured above). It offers a QXGA resolution, IPS panel, a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 processor and 4GB of RAM. Measuring only 6.6mm at its thickest point, the ZenPad S 8.0 boasts a metallic finish with an exquisite diamond hairline pattern. It uses the Asus VisualMaster for optimized rendering of visuals on the display and DTS surround sound technology for its front-facing stereo speakers.
