Xiaomi’s gaming-centric sub-brand, Black Shark, just released its latest flagship line in the Philippines. Please welcome the new Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro.
Both models made their global debut in June 11. The Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro boasts top-notch specs like fancy OLED screens with speedy 144Hz refresh rates and 720Hz touch sampling. They also have ultra-fast 120W charging and since they are gaming phones, magnetic pop-up triggers.
Being the more expensive model, the 5 Pro boasts a sharper 108-megapixel main camera, while the vanilla only gets a 64-megapixel shooter.
The main important difference is the processors. The Pro model is powered by the current-best, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 octa-core processor, while the Black Shark 5 has a still-powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.
Both models share the same 4,650mAh batteries, NFC connectivity, stereo speakers, side-mounted fingerprint scanners, and Vapor chamber cooling to keep the temps down after extensive gaming.
On the software side, Xiaomi rigged both units gets to have the latest Android 12 operating system with a special JOY UI 13 for Gamers on top.
The Black Shark 5 Pro has a price of Php36,999 for the 8GB/128GB model while the 12GB/256GB is at Php42,999.
On the other hand, the Black Shark 5 comes in 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB variants for Php25,999 and Php33,999, respectively.
