Launched together with the Cube OnRev and OnRev Max, Cherry Mobile is dubbing the Cubix Cube OnRev Astro as your ideal first smart handset. And for its price tag of only Php999, it sure is poised to be the entry point of a lot of people in the smartphone world.
The OnRev Astro packs the most basic set of features that you’d expect on a cheap smartphone. There’s a decent 4-inch capacitive screen and it’s powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor inside. The chipset is paired with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage which can be bumped up to 32GB via microSD card to handle more media and apps.
You definitely can’t do heavy gaming on this thing, but you can expect it to handle everyday tasks.
In front, there’s a 2-megapixel camera, enough for some casual selfies and video calls. Meanwhile, a 5-megapixel camera combined with an LED flash sits on the back.
