Cherry Mobile once again caters the current need of Filipinos through the release of their new mid-range level android  phone, the Cherry Mobile W900. The device will be using a Qualcomm SnapDragon chip which earned it the moniker “The Dragon Phone”.

At first glance, it can be noticed that it has some resemblance to Magnum HD or Magnum 2x because of it looks. But, it is not a successor of the Cherry Mobile Flagship. Instead, it is more likely to call it as Cherry Mobile Nova’s successor because of having almost the same price and mid-tier specs in its time. Indeed, the Dragon Phone has a whole lot of upgraded features since its predecessor’s competition.

Cherry Mobile W900 specs:

  • 4 inch WVGA Capacitive Touch Panel with 480×800 pixel resolution
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 1.2GHz processor
  • Adreno 205 GPU
  • 512MB RAM
  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread
  • 1GB internal storage (expandable via microSD up to 32GB)(8GB included)
  • 5MP primary camera
  • 720p HD video recording
  • VGA front-facing camera
  • HSDPA, 7.2Mbps. HSPA+, 21Mbps
  • Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot
  • Bluetooth v2.1
  • GPS, A-GPS support
  • DivX, DLNA certified, Dolby Digital Plus

The Dragon Phone has fair specs and is very competitive but before making a conclusion, one has to do a keen test of the unit. The Cherry Mobile W900 price is P9,999 and will possibly hit the stores some time next week. Despite the fact that Cherry Mobile did the announcement, it is still uncertain on when it will actually retail because it is always their delay problem.
