Cloudfone has been quiet for a couple of months now. But just a few days ago, the company surprised us when they announced the Cloudfone Go SP 2, a budget-friendly device that might help keep the ball rolling for the company.
As the name suggests, the Cloudfone Go SP 2 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition. A smart decision for a device with a really underpowered hardware.
Speaking of which, the Go SP 2 comes with the usual serving that you can get on smartphones at this price. There’s a 1.3Ghz quad-core processor under the hood. Partnered with 512MB of RAM and an 8GB of expandable storage.
Although you might not want to take tons of pictures with it, Cloudfone still included a 2-megapixel and 5-megapixel front and rear cameras on this device. There’s also a 2,000mAh battery on the inside to keep it juiced up.
On the downside, the Cloudfone Go SP 2 lacks 4G LTE connectivity. This might be a big downer for a lot of people. But considering that Android Go was designed to work well with low-end hardware, we can expect most applications to operate properly despite the poor wireless connection.
All of those compromises come at a really justifiable price of Php2,199. It’s now available at Cloudfone stores and kiosks nationwide.
