As we wait for 2024 flagships, brands are entertaining us with sub-flagship phones. This time we have the HONOR X50 GT.
The HONOR X50 GT is powered by the flagship processor from two years ago. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 may not be the most powerful processor currently, but it’s one of the best you can get for the price. HONOR even included a roomy 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
HONOR attached the chipset to a large vapor chamber with up to a 5,100 sq. mm cooling area. You’re also getting a big 5,800mAh battery with 35W wired fast charging.
On the front, we have a high-end 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a sharp 1220p pixel resolution and, of course, a high 120Hz refresh rate.
On top of the display is a decent 8-megapixel selfie camera. On the back, there’s a sharp 108-megapixel main shooter with a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
It will have an Android 13 operating system with MagicOS 7.2 on top and should be eligible to receive the Android 14 update considering it’s a 2024 device. Oh, and as a cherry on top, it has IP53-rated dust and splash resistance, SGS five-star anti-fall certification, as well as a fancy under-display fingerprint scanner.
The HONOR X50 GT has a starting price of CNY1,999 (~Php15,600) for the 16GB/256GB model. It will be initially available in China and will hopefully make its way into markets like the Philippines.
