Huawei MediaPad M6 8.4 and 10.8 tablets officially unveiled

Huawei revealed new members to their growing tablet line-up — the Huawei MediaPad M6 series.

The new Huawei MediaPad M6 is available in 8.4-inch and 10.8-inch variants. Both models come with WQXGA display with 2.5D curved glass which is typically seen in smartphones. They are powered by HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset, Mali-G76MP10 graphics, and 4GB of RAM. Storage range from 64GB up to 128GB with the option to add more by using a microSD card.

Android 9.0 Pie is the operating system of choice with EMUI 9.1 software on top. Both tablets have metal frames, however, only the 10.8-inch feature a fingerprint scanner embedded within the home button.

There’s also some differences in the department of the Huawei MediaPad M6 series. The 8.4-inch variant has two-channel dual speakers while the 10.8-inch model is equipped with four-channel quad speakers. The two tablets are Harman Kardon audio certified and they come with Huawei’s Histen. In addition, the larget tablet has pogo pins so users can snap an external keyboard in case they need to.

Battery capacity is 6,100mAh (8.4) and 7,500mAh (10.8), respectively. There’s 9V and 2A fast charging support but they are not as quick as the 40W technology in the Huawei P30 Pro.

Pre-order starts July 10th for the 8.4-inch Huawei MediaPad M6 and it will be in stores by July 20th. For the 10.8-inch Huawei MediaPad M6, interested buyers can order as early as the 21st of June and it will hit the shelves by July 10th.
