It looks like the Realme C2 took the easy win against the Huawei Y5 2019 on this battle. They may have similarities in some areas, but the former still takes the crown in major areas.
One of its biggest wins is in the processor department. The Realme C2 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core processor. Meanwhile, the Huawei Y5 2019 only settles for an Helio A22 quad-core processor.
Realme’s bet also offers a bigger RAM capacity, which is great for multitasking and day-to-day tasks. But for gaming, we expect the performance to be similar as they both come with an IMG PowerVR GE8320 graphics.

The Realme C2 also offers a better display. It comes with a 6.1-inch HD+ panel with Corning Gorilla Glass Protection, while the Huawei Y5 2019 is only at 5.7-inches, with no mention of any screen protection.
Probably the C2’s biggest win is the battery. This thing comes with 4,000mAh worth of it, which dwarfs the 3,020mAh capacity on the Y5 2019.
But as for the camera department, we might have to hand the win to Huawei. The Realme C2 does have a dual-camera setup, but its f/2.2 aperture might not take photos that are as good as what the f/1.8 on the Huawei Y5 2019 can.
As for the selfie cameras, both devices do come with the same 5-megapixel front-facing shooters. But on the software side, I think Realme’s camera app can handle selfies better.
On the upside, both devices have interesting designs. The Huawei Y5 2019 is available in an elegant Amber Brown option, which mimics the look of real leather with fake stitching on the sides.
Meanwhile, the Realme C2 goes for the edgier and distinctive look. It has geometric shapes on the back, which shimmers like a diamond when it reflects and acts to light.
It’s also worth noting that both devices run on the latest Android 9 Pie, with their own respective skins and custom UI. They also have up to 32GB of storage, and only relies on Face Unlock as they lack a fingerprint scanner.
Still, the bottom line is, the Realme C2’s bigger display and battery, and more powerful processor raced it to be the winner in the finish line.
This device is available for Php5,490 for the 2GB/16GB model, while the 3GB/32GB variant is at Php6,490. Meanwhile, the Huawei Y5 2019 stands in the middle as it retails or Php5,990.
