Huawei seems to mean business this year and they are not relenting in flooding the market with affordable smartphones as it added another one to its Y series.

A few days ago, the Chinese phone maker silently unveiled the Huawei Y3 2017 which would go on sale soon. Yet again, another smartphone dubbed as the Huawei Y7 has been introduced on their website.

The Huawei Y7 is a budget-friendly, mid-range Android smartphone which runs Huawei’s EMUI 5.1 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. It is designed with a metal body and a plastic frame while the front side is coated in 2.5D glass and the back side has a sandblasted surface which has a nice feel when held in the hands.

It runs on a 1.4 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory. There is also a microSD slot that is expandable up to 128GB. Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, and a micro USB port make up the connectivity team of this smartphone.

Huawei Y7 official launch

The Huawei Y7 sports a 5.5-inch HD screen with 1280 x 720pixel resolution. On the camera aspect, the Y7 packs a 12-megapixel rear camera with 1.25 μm ppi, PDAF (phase detection autofocus) and LED flash. For selfies, this device is armed with an 8MP front camera which features face recognition technology and beauty mode.

The huge 4,000 mAh battery that should last a couple of days is one major selling point of this mid-range handset. The battery gives up to 20 hours of video playback and 15 hours of internet browsing.

Just like with the Y3, Huawei is yet to release information on the release date and price of the Huawei Y7. The phone will be available in gray, prestige gold, and silver colors.
