More details about the upcoming LG Velvet has been finally revealed.
For a quick recap, the new LG Velvet promises to break the norm of smartphone designs. It has a symmetrical camera glass on the back, a sleek and curved design — just an overall brand-new and fresh-looking smartphone.
It may not be a proper flagship device, but the LG Velvet is still well-equipped with reliable hardware. It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G 5G processor and available in a lone 8GB/128GB RAM and storage variant.
A large 6.8-inch P-OLED FHD+ curved screen populates the front of the device, with a tiny dot notch for the 16-megapixel selfie camera on the top.
The design highlight is seen on the back. The aforementioned triple camera setup consists of a 48-megapixel main shooter, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. Completing the ‘waterdrop’ look is the LED flash.
LG combined looks and practicality on the LG Velvet. It may look sleek and stunning, but this device actually has IP68 water and dust resistance and MIL-STD-810G certification for durability.
A generous 4,300mAh battery was also crammed in, but with no specific mention of fast-charging speed.
The LG Velvet is now available for pre-order in South Korea for a price of KRW899,800 (~Php37,200). Too much for a device with mid-range specs, but I guess there’s a price to pay for owning a smartphone with unique and elegant design.
