Motorola has released a new bang-for-the-buck smartphone, the Moto X40.
The Motorola Moto X40 easily sits in the flagship category thanks to its powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 octa-core processor. Considering that this is just the vanilla version, we’re curious to see what the Pro model has in store for us.
Having impressive numbers, the Moto X40 also has a gigantic 6.7-inch display, which is paired with a whopping 165Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color, HDR10+ support, and DC dimming.
Instead of the pixel-packed 200-megapixel sensor that the Edge 30 Ultra has, it has a 50-megapixel main shooter, another 50-megapixel sensor with ultra-wide that has autofocus for macro shots, 12-megapixel portrait lens with 2x zoom, and a 60-megapixel selfie snapper.
Oddly enough, despite its size, it only has a 4,600mAh battery instead of the usual 5,000mAh. On the upside, it could do a 0%-50% charge in just 7 minutes since it comes with a 125W adapter. Also onboard is a 15W wireless charging support.
As for the build, the Moto X40 has a frame made out of 7000-series aluminum and a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on the back. The glass used on the front was not mentioned. What’s more, it has an IP68 rating for being dust and water-resistant.
The Motorola Moto X40 is available in 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB variants for a price of CNY3,399 (~Php27,100), CNY3,699 (~Php29,600), CNY3,999 (~Php31,900), and CNY4,299 (~Php34,300).
