The first flagship device to hail from Motorola Mobility ever since the company was acquired by Google, Motorola X is the answer of both companies to challenge the myriad of smartphones made by Apple and Samsung.
It was only a few weeks ago when there were hardly any credible information about the Motorola X. But now, we have leaked press images of the device—credit goes to evleaks—and even technical specifications.
Motorola X Specs
- Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
- 4.7-inch (720×1184) display
- 1.7GHz Qualcomm S4 Pro dual-core processor
- Adreno 320 GPU
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB internal storage
- 10.5-megapixel main camera
- 2.1-megapixel front camera
- NFC
- 2200mAh battery
Based on several online reports, the specs mentioned above have been confirmed to be true. Other information, such as dimensions and connectivity, remain unclear. The version of Android used in the device is still 4.2 Jelly Bean, but there seems to be indications of an Android 4.3 update shortly afterwards, if not right of out the box.
Fortunately, everything about the Motorola X will be officially revealed in the upcoming August 1 unveiling in New York, which Google and Motorola have been busy sending invitations for to the press. Yet another leaked info points out that the phone is expected to arrive in stores as early as August 23 and no later than October. Coming in either black or white, the Moto X is pegged as a user customizable phone with affordability in mind, instead of coming equipped with the newest components.
