MyPhone-A919-Duo

We were very lucky enough to have a private peak of this android phone last October and we can safely say that it is one awesome smartphone. It is almost of the same size with the Galaxy Note 2 when it was compared side by side and the elegance of the design is there as well. The MyPhone A919 Duo flaunts a 5.0-inch IPS Display which can offer extended viewing angles, a combination of 1GHz Dual-core processor and 512MB of RAM for seamless gaming and multitasking, and 4GB of ROM to store all your apps and multimedia files. It will also run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on top to fuel the show.

Impressive specs, right? And oh, I bet the 8-megapixel camera is really great and possibly even better than the MyPhone A898 Duo‘s 5-megapixel camera.

MyPhone also told us that this is not a rebranded MicroMax A110 but they do have the same manufacturer.

[two_fifth]”MyPhone is definitely looking on dominating the local smartphone scene this Christmas season”[/two_fifth]

The MyPhone A919 Duo is strategically priced at Php7,999, just Php500 above the A898. If you want a larger phone, then this can be your best choice for a fraction of the price of international brands. According to our reliable source, the MyPhone A919 will be available next week.

MyPhone is definitely looking on dominating the local smartphone scene this Christmas season as they now have their complete line-up, with the flagship android phone now official. So for those who waited for this large android phone (or phablet), do you think these set of specs is worth the wait?

    1. Again, this is the official specs of this device. It was handed to me by MyPhone so this is 100% accurate. The usable internal storage is around 2.5GB and the rest of the 4GB is reserved for the OS.

  1. I can’t wait to go back in Philippines to buy this unit. I was planning to buy a new phone, the samsung galaxy note II but I think I must buy a919. More cheaper and affordable but I think it will satisfy me. I hope I can have this soon. I’m starting to crave. :3

  2. napansin ko lang mapa myhone a919 or yung starmobile crystal, robotic boses ng kausap ko sa viber.. pero regular calls, skype, tango.. ok naman sya? share naman your experiences naman dito.

  3. I have in my lifetime used only Nokia or samsung phones. For the first time ventured into budget phones (if you can call it). I am pleasantly surprised with the product. As for the product there are a lot more pros than cons. Its unfair to compare it with samsung/ sony products selling at 3 times its price. But then it does provide quite a punch. Got no issues with its performance till now. Lookwise I tell you, you wont regret buying it.
    Pros:-
*Pretty good user interface. Dual core processor with Android ICS does make it quite smooth and fast, without any lags.(at least I have not encountered any lags till now)
*A big touchscreen with really vibrant colors makes it look outstanding holding in your hand.
    * Touch screen sensitivity is quite good and smooth. No issues here.
*All the three Buttons at the bottom are really useful and quite easy to operate and read a touch quite smoothly.
    * Great that it supports USB On The Go. You can connect your pen drive to it.
    * Gaming experience is ok
    * I am not a camera buff. So Camera for me is quite ok except maybe at night where dual LED flash needs to be improved.
    * With it selling like hot cakes, do you really have to care about negative reviews. Its only a phone. You would rather regret buying it than regret after buying a 3-4 times costlier phones.

    Cons:
    * biggest is that it is simply a local chinese phone manufactured by Shenzhen Tinno Mobile Technology Co., Ltd. rebranded in India as Micromax A110 and here as Myphone A919 Duo. You notice that at phone startup when u get a logo of Tinno mobile on it. Myphone hasnt done anything except import and pack it. Elsewhere it sells under various names most notably as Mobistel Cynus T2 in Germany ( only diff- Mobistel Cynus T2 has a 12 MP camera to A110’s 8MP coz they have diff rom). You can nevertheless download and install Cynus T2 stock rom on this phone to increase your camera to 12 MP and maybe shortly switch to jelly bean which Cynus T2 is shortly bringing in.
    * Other small issues are its 2000ah Battery drains quite fast (you can buy a better chinese battery to tide over this), camera doesnt seem 8 MP really, very large screen needs utmost care to protect against scratches, headfones are outdated, sound quality and loudness not upto mark, rebooting facility not there

But as I said dont care about negative points. You cant get anything more worthwhile at this price currently. Go for it. You wont regret.
