HMD Global has officially launched the Nokia 1 in the Philippines.
The Nokia 1 sports the Android Go operating system, which is a watered-down version of Google’s Android. It’s a dedicated software meant to cater low-end smartphones, in hopes of making it run smoother even with mediocre hardware.
In terms of internals, the Nokia 1 definitely won’t win any awards with its 1.1GHz MediaTek chipset and 1GB RAM combo. But nevertheless, with the promise of Android Go, we hope that it could still perform well. There’s only 8GB of onboard storage but it can be further expanded up to 128GB with the help of microSD.
