According to HMD Global, the Nokia 3 is the most successful offering since they took over Nokia’s smartphone business. But in reality, this news is not so surprising as the device is the sweet spot between being cheap but with a capable set of specs.

Now, HMD Global is trying to continue what they started as they introduce the new Nokia 3.1. The successor will have all the good elements that its predecessor has, but still at an affordable price.

HMD Global dressed the Nokia 3.1 in a CNC aluminum body, so expect to have a premium-feeling build in an entry-level smartphone such as this. It has a tall 5.2-inch HD+ screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio, to make the device look modern and up to date.

Nokia 3.1 is equipped with a MediaTek 6750 octa-core processor which the company claims that it can provide 50% better performance than the original model as it now sports twice as many cores. The processor is then aided by either a 2GB/16GB or 3GB/32GB memory and storage options.

The Nokia 3.1 is also part of Google’s Android One program. This means that the device runs on a clean version of Android 8.0 Oreo, without any third-party skins and shenanigans.

There’s an 8-megapixel camera on the front for selfies. Meanwhile, a 13-megapixel sensor is positioned at the back for more serious photography capabilities.
