Nokia’s highly-anticipated flagship device is finally here in the Philippines. At long last, Filipinos can now get their hands on the new Nokia 8.

HMD Global’s Nokia products have caught the attention of a lot of people in the budget category. The earlier Android-powered Nokia smartphones offered great value for the price, and the company plans to continue it with the new Nokia 8.

The Nokia 8 clearly achieved its flagship status, thanks to all the first-rate features that it offers. It has a 5.3-inch QHD IPS display that’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 to prevent scratches. It also runs on the flagship-exclusive octa-core Snapdragon 835 chipset. The 4GB of RAM is definitely not the highest of them all, but it’s more than enough for most tasks today. In terms of storage, it has a spacious and fast 64GB of UFS2.1 which is easily expandable using a microSD card.

Of course, it’s also equipped with a dual-camera setup at the back. There’s a 13-megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization that shoots in color, and another 13-megapixel one for artsy and dramatic monochrome shots. Both of sensors are equipped with Carl Zeiss lens, the old Nokia’s partner when it comes to mobile photography.

Moreover, the handset is IP54 dust and splash resistant — a staple flagship feature nowadays. There’s also NFC, fingerprint scanner, and more importantly, a headphone jack.
