OnePlus made a significant splash in the Android tablet game last year, and it looks like they’re not slowing down. At an event today in Milan, Italy, the company unveiled its latest device, the OnePlus Pad 2, alongside the Nord Buds 3 TWS and OnePlus Watch 2R.

The OnePlus Pad 2 is basically a rebranded OnePlus Pad Pro, which was first launched in China. It boasts several key upgrades over its predecessor. There’s the bigger 12.1-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 3000×2120, a notable improvement from the original model’s 11.61-inch display with 2000×2800 pixel resolution.

Inside, the OnePlus Pad 2 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It comes in two configurations: 8GB RAM + 128GB storage as well as 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. For software, it runs on the latest Android 14 operating system skinned with OxygenOS 14.

Battery life is also a key focus, with the tablet housing a substantial 9,510mAh battery. It supports 67W SuperVOOC fast charging, which, according to OnePlus, can charge the battery up to 64% in just 30 minutes. For 0 to 100%, it will be filled up in as fast as 81 minutes.

Keeping with the industry trend, OnePlus has included several AI features in the Pad 2. Users can look forward to updates for AI Magic Studio, AI Eraser 2.0, Scan Document, and Recording Summary, later this month through over-the-air (OTA) updates. Additionally, new AI Toolbox features such as AI Writer, AI Summary, and AI Speak are set to be released in September.

While the OnePlus Pad 2 retains the same camera setup as its predecessor — a 13-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel front camera — this isn’t likely to be a major concern for most users, as tablets are not typically purchased for their camera capabilities.

For the accessories, OnePlus also introduced an improved keyboard and Stylo 2 smart pencil, both sold separately.

Given the advanced features and powerful performance, it’s no surprise that the OnePlus Pad 2 comes with a higher price tag. The tablet starts at $550 (~Php32,000), compared to the original OnePlus Pad’s launch price of $479 (~Php28,000).
