China’s Tianwen-1 Mars rover has made its successful landing on the red planet. To commemorate this milestone, the Chinese tech giant launched a special version of its current flagship smartphone; the OPPO Find X3 Pro Mars Exploration Edition.
The OPPO Find X3 Pro Mars Exploration Edition — an English name roughly translated from Chinese, has a new gray paint job. This new color will be joining the device’s four existing options: Cosmic Mocha, Gloss Black, White, and Blue.
OPPO explains that outer space inspired the new colorway. The back panel is constructed of high-fog AG glass that has a metallic luster that creates a texture of the materials found in space.
The new edition also has the words Mars 2021 and Utopia Planitia written on the back. The latter refers to the Tianwen-1’s landing site on Mars.
On the software side, the Find X3 Mars edition has a Mars-inspired theme with dynamic wallpapers feature the planet Mars. The brown tones really compliment the gray hardware color.
It also comes with three color filters. There’s a red one that transforms pictures like they were taken on Mars. The device also comes with a special packaging.
The rest of the specs are the same. It comes with a flagship Snapdragon 888 processor, two 50-megapixel cameras, a 10-bit 120Hz AMOLED screen, and a 4,500mAh battery with 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 wired and 30W AirVOOC wireless charging. You can check the full specs list here.
Those in China can get the OPPO Find X3 Pro Mars Exploration Edition for CNY6,999 (around Php51,900) starting May 16. It comes with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
