OPPO grows the Reno11 series with its most ‘affordable’ model, the OPPO Reno11 F 5G.

Design and Build Quality
OPPO has nailed the designs of the Reno11 and Reno11 Pro, so it’s no surprise that they also did a great job on the OPPO Reno11 F 5G. This Palm Green colorway — the darkest one available — looks subtle and elegant while exuding better character than the typical black color.

There’s also hints of green and emerald from light reflections. It has a glitter-like accent for a fancier look. If you want something more eye-catching, you can go with the Coral Purple and Ocean Blue variants that look like the subtle waves of a calm sea.
The matte finish of the back panel kept it clean for annoying fingerprint marks and smudges. This is perfect for no-case users. But if you don’t trust yourself for not dropping it, it’s best to use the free clear case on the box. As a standard, OPPO has also applied a screen protector on the front.

But what I immediately noticed is how incredibly comfortable the device is to the hands. It’s only about 7.54mm thick and only weighs 177g. It’s easily one of the thinnest midrange phones I’ve held in a while. Plus, with the added grip provided by the flat sides, you can watch content or play games for hours comfortably with this device.

Despite thinness, the Reno11 F feels really well-made and sturdy. No alarming creaks when I tried flexing it.
OPPO also made it IP65 water and dust-resistant, which they said was able to withstand an hour under the rain and 3 minutes with a water jet. I didn’t test how waterproof it is as the company claims, but it was able to survive the usual running tap water test without any issues.

Let’s take a tour of the hardware. Starting on the top, where it only has the noise-isolating microphone. At the bottom, it has the single loudspeaker, USB-C port, and the primary microphone.

On the left, it has the hybrid SIM slot that can only accommodate two nano SIMs or one SIM and microSD card. It may have something to do with how thin the device is, but I’ve seen competing devices that have a dedicated microSD card slot.

The left side has the volume controls above the lock/power switch. The buttons are thin and flat — making them very sleek — while being very clicky and satisfying to press.
Display and Sound Quality
The OPPO Reno11 F 5G has a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2412 x 1080 pixels, 394ppi, 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and HDR10+ certification.

It has an adaptive refresh rate that automatically switches between 60Hz and 120Hz when needed for better efficiency. You can also adjust the screen color mode if you want to.
Eye Comfort settings are also here, so you can adjust and schedule the screen color temperature to make it easier for the eyes, especially at night.

I have no complaints about the display quality. It’s colorful and contrasty enough and the screen brightness is ample for outdoor use.
The high refresh rate is felt, but not all the time due to its midrange processor. I also have no issue with the touch response, even in games.

What’s really disappointing is the lack of stereo speakers. Now that we’re in 2024, it should only be acceptable on devices under Php15,000.
Fortunately, the single bottom-firing speaker did a pretty stellar job. It has a lot of volume and the clarity is commendable. It also features a 300% Ultra Volume mode, but the sound gets distorted when set to maximum. Still, it’s quite useful for listening in loud environments.
Hardware and Performance
The OPPO Reno11 F 5G is powered by a 2.6GHz MediaTek Dimensity 7050 octa-core processor, with a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage that’s expandable up to 2TB via a microSD card.
OPPO Reno11 F 5G Benchmark Scores

It’s definitely not the snappiest chipset for the price, but it was still able to provide reliable performance, especially with the efficient operating system.
Scrolling through the interface, web browsing, and consuming content on social media is seamless. Basic and everyday tasks run without issues.

In addition, the OPPO Reno11 F 5G can also game. Call of Duty Mobile, PUBG Mobile, and Farlight84 were fine at Medium graphics quality. Mobile Legends is set at High while Genshin Impact ran okay at the lowest settings. Since this is not a high-end chip, expect to see some lags and frame drops, especially in busy environments.
Overheating was also not an issue, even under Performance Mode. While it did get warm when playing for an extended period, it wasn’t bad enough to interrupt our gaming experience.
Game | Graphics Settings |
Call of Duty: Mobile | • Graphics Quality: High • Frame Rate: Very High |
Farlight84 | • Graphics Quality: HD • Frame Rate: Very High • Resolution: Medium |
PUBG Mobile | • Graphics Quality: HD • Frame Rate: High |
Genshin Impact | • Graphics Quality: Low (Default) |
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang | • Graphics Quality: High • Frame Rate: High • HD Mode: On |
Asphalt 9: Legends | • Visual Quality: Default • Frame Rate: 60fps |
Software and User Interface
The OPPO Reno11 F 5G runs on Android 14-based ColorOS 14. It’s one of our favorite interfaces due to how polished and efficient it is compared to other bloated skins. However, it’s not perfect. For one, I hate how busy the Security test is every time you download apps as it is flunked with different app suggestions. I also spotted a couple of unwanted pre-installed apps, but are thankfully removable. Swiping down from the home screen shows the Shelf widgets and global search while swiping up shows the organized app drawer.

One of the things I liked is the built-in Phone Manager app. It analyzes your device to find unnecessary files taking up storage, outdated apps, virus and risks, and more, and lets you clear them and optimize everything with a press of a single button.
I also liked OPPO’s gaming screen that you can launch by swiping from the top left while playing. It gives you access to notification blocker settings, switch gaming modes, see CPU stats, real-time fps, and more. A dedicated theme store is also here for those who really want to customize their device. Always-on display (AOD) wallpapers are also here, but I wish there were more designs to choose from.

Google’s straightforward and easy-to-comprehend Security and Privacy settings is much appreciated, especially for people who are not too technical with phones. Both the fingerprint scanner and face unlock also worked well in my tests, but I did notice the latter is faster in unlocking the device.
Snap Cards is also here where you can tap a physical, NFC-capable card to save it on your phone. This works with the built-in app called FinEasy.

The OPPO Reno11 F 5G features Smart Suggestions that show dynamic, real-time updates via lock screen widgets, on your food deliveries and other services. It works well with Grab, but hopefully Angkas and other services will join soon.
Split screen mode can be easily accessed by swiping three fingers up while an app is open. Flexible Window a.k.a floating apps is also present for better multitasking. Smart Sidebar enables quick access on your chosen apps, screenshots, screen recordings, recent files, and File Dock — a feature that lets you select multiple files and drop them into different apps.

OPPO’s camera app is still as good as ever. There’s a prominent EV (exposure value) button at the top if you want your image to become brighter or darker. You can easily access the camera app from the bottom right of the lock screen. On the other side, there’s the shortcut to Google Assistant so you can instantly ask for questions, commands, etc.
As with most Android phones, the OPPO Reno11 F uses Google Keyboard by default. It’s familiar, easy to use, and flexible. Unless you have specific needs, there’s no better Android keyboard out there.

Like any other software, I hope that ColorOS 14 continues to get better and less bloated over time. But as it is today, it’s pretty good.
Camera
The OPPO Reno11 F 5G has a 64-megapixel main camera with an f/1.7 aperture, which sadly lacks optical image stabilization. It is joined by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide, 2-megapixel macro lens, and a sharp 32-megapixel selfie camera.

Daytime images from the 64-megapixel main camera look clean, realistic, and detailed. Dynamic range is fine, too. In addition, the sharp camera lets you shoot 2x photos with no noticeable drop in quality for a 50mm equivalent.

Indoor shots are not as good outdoors, but still usable enough for most users. Low-light outdoor shots are decent, but I suggest using the Night Mode as much as you can, so images look brighter with better dynamic range.

OPPO’s image processing has been refined over the years, which is evident in the 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. Shots have the right colors, the dynamic range is passable, and barrel distortion is not a problem.

The macro camera is a great novelty but don’t expect much from its quality. It can get pretty close to a subject, but the colors are a bit washed out and the details, as expected from a 2-megapixel sensor, are lacking.

Finally, there’s the 32-megapixel front camera. It takes sharp selfies, even in low light. Skin tones are accurate and there are a bunch of beauty modes to play with if you’re into it. Portrait Mode also worked well with acceptable subject-background separation.

OPPO is known for its camera hardware and quality, so it’s no surprise that the OPPO Reno11 F takes good photos.
Battery and Charging
The OPPO Reno11 F comes with a standard 5,000mAh battery like most midrange phones today. But unlike its competitors, it has flagship-level 67W SUPERVOOC charging technology.

It garnered one of the best scores we got on PCMark’s battery loop test, where it lasted 17 hours and 7 minutes before it dropped from 100% to 20%. That’s close to the highest score we’re getting on this test, which is about 19 hours. The average score we get is around 14 hours.
In real-world use, I was able to play different triple-A games for about an hour and a half with only about 18% loss in the battery. To sum it up, moderate to heavy users will have to charge the device every night, while light users can probably get two days’ worth of juice out of it.

If you’re one of those hardcore users who always run out of juice, then you’d appreciate its 67W SUPERVOOC fast charging. In our test, a full charge only took about 46 minutes. A quick 15-minute charge from 0% already took us to 48%. See the full test below:
- 15-minute charge: 48%
- 30-minute charge: 79%
- 40-minute charge: 95%
- 46-minute charge: FULL
Verdict
OPPO has created a good all-rounder with the OPPO Reno11 F 5G. It has a comfortable design for daily use, colorful display, polished interface that’s easy to use, flexible cameras, and a battery life that can last for an entire day.

But like its predecessors, the processor used is still behind the competition. Another disappointment is the lack of stereo speakers.
At the end of the day, it’s up to the consumer to decide what are the most important features to them in a smartphone. If you value a slim profile, good software, and nice cameras, the OPPO Reno11 F 5G is definitely worth looking at.
