Like what I have said many times before, 2017 is the year of dual-cameras. And by dual-camera I mean two cameras working side-by-side in one camera mode.

This type of camera setup works in different ways. The twin sensors on the ASUS Zenfone 3 Zoom is found on the rear of the handset and is used to deliver natural optical zooming capabilities. On the other hand, a device like the OPPO F3 Plus utilizes two front-facing cameras so users can take group pictures with its secondary wide-angle lens.

If you’re planning to get into the dual-camera game, but can’t decide if you want the feature to be on either the front or back of the device, we have good news for you.

Meet the Oukitel U22, a crazy smartphone with four cameras. The device has two sensors in the front and back, for those who are serious about photography and crazy about taking selfies. This device is a successor to the Oukitel U20, which is said to be the device where the Cherry Mobile P1 came from.

The shooter at the back is a combination of an 8-megapixel and a 2-megapixel camera. This combo is meant for taking images with shallow depth-of-field, commonly known as “Bokeh”. On the other hand, the setup found at the front of the Oukitel U22 is a 5-megapixel sensor and an extra 2-megapixel for – as what they were calling it – “highlighting your beauty”. I am not entirely sure how a dual front-facing camera can highlight one’s beauty, but I can already tell that it’s a nonsense gimmick.

Other than the cameras, there’s pretty much nothing else unveiled yet about the Oukitel U22. But judging by the image above, it looks like there’s also a front-facing flash and a fingerprint scanner at the back.

If you can remember, the Alcatel Flash 2017 also has quad cameras in its arsenal so this is really not the first time we’re seeing it.

According to a team from the company, the Oukitel U22 will be available in Jet Black, Pearl White, and Champagne. The device will be available for pre-sale on the middle of this month.
