Xiaomi sub-brand is shaking up the industry once again with its latest release, the POCO F4 GT, a high-end phone with a very appealing price tag.
What constitutes a proper flagship in 2022? Having powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, which the POCO F4 GT has. It also comes with a LiquidCool 3.0 technology, which consists of two vapor chambers that cool the chipset and charging mechanism, respectively.
Cooling the charging area is quite important, considering that this machine boasts a whopping 120W HyperCHarge support. POCO claims that fully charging its 4,700mAh battery will only take about 17 minutes.
The POCO F4 GT also comes with an aggressive-looking and angled USB Type-C cable so it’s easier to use in landscape mode, perfect for uninterrupted binge-watching or playing games.
To fully utilize its power, the F4 GT is equipped with a pretty packed display. What we have here is an enormous 6.67-inch AMOLED panel, with a fast 120Hz refresh rate, and even comes with high-frequency PWM dimming. It’s so good that DisplayMate gave it a score of A+.
Made for gaming, the screen’s touch sampling can go up to 480Hz for improved touch sensitivity.
If on-screen buttons are not enough, it also has pop-up shoulder triggers, which were apparently tested in more than 100 games. The triggers can also be used as shortcut buttons.
Oh, and of course, it has RGB lights in the camera island for notifications, charging status, and when you enter the Game Turbo mode.
POCO also put a lot of effort into the cameras by rigging them with two Sony sensors. The first one is the 64-megapixel IMX686 that serves as the main camera, while the other is a 20-megapixel IMX596 that sits on a punch-hole on the screen for selfies and video calls.
There’s also the usual 8-megapixel ultra-wide and 2-megapixel macro lens. It also got a special flicker sensor.
For sound, the POCO F4 GT has four speakers that are symmetrically aligned for better separation. There’s also a special CyberEngine X-axis linear motor for better haptics.
Oh, and if this device looks familiar, that’s because it’s basically the global version of the Redmi K50 Gaming.
The POCO F4 GT has a starting price in the Philippines of Php27,590. That’s for the 8GB/128GB model while the 12GB/256GB is at Php30,990. They will be available on POCO’s global stores in Lazada and Shopee starting April 28 where both variants will be discounted to Php24,390 and Php27,990, respectively, until May 12.
