Xiaomi just brought the Redmi A1 in the Philippines, which is currently its cheapest smartphone offering in the market.
The Redmi A1 wants to provide a complete smartphone experience as it’s powered by a MediaTek Helio A22, paired with an acceptable 2GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage.

It has an apt 6.52-inch HD+ screen with a standard 60Hz refresh rate, but with a relatively responsive 120Hz touch sampling rate.
Like most phones, it has a large 5,000mAh battery, and like most entry-level devices, it only has a 10W charger. Sadly, it still uses the old microUSB standard instead of the newer USB Type-C.

A waterdrop notch holds the 5-megapixel selfie camera. While on the back, it managed to have a dual-camera setup. The main one has an 8-megapixel shooter, while the second one is unknown, possibly a depth sensor. To keep the price down, it didn’t get to have a fingerprint scanner, but a face unlock should be onboard.
It also ships with a clean Android 12 user interface for better efficiency. As a cherry on top, it boasts a leather-like texture on the back for better looks, and grip, and keeps it clean from fingerprint smudges. It comes in three colors: Light Green, Light Blue, and Black.

Xiaomi is selling the Redmi A1 with an SRP of Php4,499, but it will be discounted to Php3,999 from October 29 to November 13.
