Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi just introduced the Redmi K50 and K50 Pro.
Both the Redmi K50 and K50 Pro look the same with their circular design inside a rectangular camera island and 6.7-inch screens that boast QHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
But being the more expensive model, the Redmi K50 Pro boasts a more powerful Dimensity 9000 processor, while the latter has Dimensity 8100 — both have 5G connectivity.
It also has a better main camera with its 108-megapixel 1/1.52-inch sensor from Samsung sitting on an optical image stabilizer (OIS). The non-pro variant settles for a 48-megapixel IMX582 sensor from Sony, but still gets to have OIS, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, and 2-megapixel macro.
The Redmi K50 Pro enjoys a fast 120W charging that can bring its 5,000mAh battery from 0% to 100% in just 19 minutes. The Redmi K50 brags a larger 5,500mAh capacity but charges longer since it also has a slower 67W adapter.
China gets first dibs on both devices. The Redmi K50 starts at CNY2,399 (around Php19,700) for the 8GB/128GB while the top-tier 12GB/256GB variant is at CNY2,799 (around Php23,00).
The Pro model is available in 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB variants for CNY2,999 (around Php24,700), CNY3,299 (around Php27,100), and CNY3,999 (around Php32,900), respectively.
