We’re seeing revolutionary innovations in mobile charging tech. Just recently, the fastest we saw is 180W. Now, Xiaomi is upping the game by releasing the Redmi Note 12 Explorer, which boasts a 210W adapter.
The fastest we saw is the 180W adapter on the Infinix Zero Ultra. Now, that’s been dethroned by the Redmi Note 12 Explorer, which comes with a 210W adapter for its 4,300mAh battery.
That said, a 0% to 100% full charge with the Note 12 Explorer will only take 9 minutes. For comparison, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus with its 120W charger can fully charge its 5,000mAh battery at around 19 minutes.
This is a proprietary tech from Xiaomi that utilizes a standard low voltage of 20V, but splits it into three channels at 3.5W each. Also, unlike the chunky 180W charger of Infinix, this one is a bit smaller and more compact thanks to GaN technology. It’s only 67.3 x 64.3 x 30mm.
Other than the charging, the Explorer is essentially the same as the Note 12 Pro Plus. It is still powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor, a 120Hz OLED screen, and a whopping 200-megapixel main camera.
It also boasts stereo speakers, an under-display fingerprint scanner, and an Android 12-based MIUI 13 interface.
The Redmi Note 12 Explorer 8GB/256GB has a price of CNY2,399 (around Php19,200) and is now up for pre-order in china.
