Samsung-Galaxy-J3-2018

Samsung just announced the new Galaxy J3 2018, a follow-up to last year’s 2017 model — with little improvements.

The Samsung Galaxy J3 2018 still has a 5-inch HD screen. The type of display panel used is undisclosed, but it is most likely an IPS due to its cheap price tag, instead of the usual Super AMOLED screen that they use in their more expensive smartphones.

It is also powered by the same Exynos 7570 chipset of last year, partnered with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. Probably the only upgraded here is the battery and the OS, which is now rated at 2,600mAh and Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

There’s a 5-megapixel camera for selfies, while the camera on the back was weirdly downgraded to 8-megapixels from the 13-megapixel of last year. Thankfully, it has a wide aperture of f/1.9 which helps in shooting in low-light.

The official pricing and availability of the Samsung Galaxy J3 2018 are yet to be announced.
