There’s a lot to talk about here — the gigantic display, the MediaTek processor, the S-Pen, the keyboard case, and more. In our Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra review, we’ll see how good it actually is and if it has everything you need in a tablet.

Design and Build Quality
In terms of design, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra looks a lot like its predecessor. It still has a flat frame, lines, and markings where the antennas are, clean camera lenses similar to the Galaxy S series, and a small island with magnets for the S-Pen.
It’s available in two colors: Platinum Silver and Moonstone Gray, which is the review unit we have. The rear panel is made of metal, with a matte finish that stays clean from fingerprint marks and smudges. Can you imagine consistently cleaning a large surface like this?
Build quality is good. It feels sturdy, doesn’t feel cheap, wouldn’t flex when I tried a couple of light bend tests, and it also has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
For some people, its biggest feature might also be one of its cons, but that’s mostly because of personal preferences. The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra has a gigantic 14.6-inch — the same size or even larger than most laptops in the market today.
It made the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra almost comically large for a tablet. While it has usage benefits, carrying this thing around like a normal tablet can be strenuous. It’s quite hard to use even with two hands, and the kickstand and keyboard case are finicky to set up and use on your lap. In a table setup, it’s really great and almost identical to a traditional laptop.
The size makes the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra a niche product. Unless you really have a use for a tablet with a gigantic screen, you’re probably better off getting a smaller and more compact one.
But if we’re talking solely about design and build quality, Samsung nailed it on this one.
Even the accessories it came with feel well made. The S Pen is ergonomic to use and is also IP68 water resistant. The kickstand case attaches magnetically to the device and has a flap to secure the stylus while recharging from the tablet’s power.
The keyboard with trackpad also attaches magnetically to the device and pairs automatically using pins. It draws power from the tablet, so there’s no need to recharge it individually.
Material for both the kickstand case and the keyboard feels rubbery for better grip, but it’s not safe from smudges if you have oily hands.
Taking a tour, we have the 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X on the front. The bezels are too thin to give space for your fingers without touching the screen, but I appreciate how it’s thin enough to give a great screen-to-body ratio.
There are two cameras on top, sitting on a notch that feels completely unnecessary. We also have an under-display fingerprint scanner, which is a nice touch, but I prefer the convenience of having it on the lock/power button for faster access.
Speaking of which, the lock/power button and volume controls are on the top left. They are incredibly well made, clicky, tactile, and satisfying to press.
There are also two microphones here to pick up your voice clearly, as well as a tray for a nano-SIM and, surprisingly, a microSD card slot.
We have two speakers on the left side, and another two on the right with the USB-C 3.2 in/out port.
The bottom has the pogo pins and indents to securely connect the keyboard case to the tablet.
There’s no surprise that Samsung nailed the design and build quality of its best tablet, just make sure you’re fully committed to owning a humongous tablet with a laptop-sized display.

Display and Audio
The highlight of the show is the 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, with a WQXGA+ resolution of 2960 x 1848 pixels for a decent ~239 pixels-per-inch.
It has a 16:10 aspect ratio that’s wide enough for watching content and tall enough for multitasking. There’s also the HDR10+ support and 120Hz refresh rate. Samsung also highlights the device’s anti-reflection technology which works well and is a much-appreciated feature considering how large it is.
Samsung has some of the best displays on a mobile device, and this one is no exception. It’s vibrant and has deep contrast, possibly the best I’ve seen on a tablet.
In addition, large screen real estate is great for running apps side by side — even more through floating windows. Artists would also love playing with the S Pen on this large canvas.
It doesn’t have the greatest speakers on a tablet. Still, the AKG-tuned quad stereo speakers managed to meet our expectations. It can get really loud, has decent stereo separation, and the treble is clear. The bass is also punchy to add depth to dialogues and amplify action scenes.
Hardware and Performance
A controversial aspect of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is the switch from the last generation’s Qualcomm chip to MediaTek. It is now powered by a 3.4GHz MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ octa-core processor with an Immortalis-G720 MC12 GPU.
The review unit we have has 12GB of RAM and 512GB of expandable storage, but it’s also available in a cheaper 12GB/256 configuration and a top-tier 16GB/1TB. All variants have a SIM slot for 5G connectivity.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra Benchmark Scores
It was reliable for day-to-day tasks. I can easily do work by running apps side-by-side, and even opening a third or fourth app via a floating window, without experiencing any hiccups or delays.
I even wrote this review on the device itself while running the tests. It would probably take so much more to slowdown this workhorse.
Now that we know it can handle work, how about gaming? Let’s start with a heavy one, Genshin Impact, which ran smoothly even under the Highest preset settings.
PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, and Farlight84 also ran on the highest available settings for all games.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang obviously had no issues under Ultra, as well as Asphalt Legends Unite under High.
There’s no question the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is powerful enough to game. Although, the gigantic display makes the gaming experience tiring, but it should offer a great experience for titles with controller support or multiplayer games you can play with friends.
Game | Graphics Settings |
Call of Duty: Mobile | • Graphics Quality: Max • Frame Rate: Max |
Farlight84 | • Graphics Quality: Extreme • Frame Rate: Very High |
PUBG Mobile | • Graphics Quality: Ultra HDR • Frame Rate: Ultra |
Genshin Impact | • Graphics Quality: Highest |
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang | • Graphics Quality: Ultra • Frame Rate: Ultra • HD Mode: On |
Asphalt Legends Unite | • Visual Quality: High Quality • Frame Rate: 60 |
Software and User Interface
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra was shipped and still runs on Android 14-based One UI 6.1. No worries, though, as Samsung promised it will receive 7 years of software updates. That means it will be eligible up to Android 21.
To take full advantage of the massive display, Samsung allows users to switch between two interfaces. There’s the traditional Android UI similar to smartphones, and there’s Samsung DeX that has a Windows-like UI to work seamlessly with a mouse and keyboard. I personally used the default Android UI for entertainment and basic tasks, while the Samsung DeX mode helped me when I need to do work.
The Smart Keyboard greatly improves how you multitask with the tablet. You can customize keyboard shortcuts, the F1 to F3 can be assigned to launch individual apps, and there’s a dedicated Gemini button to quickly access Google’s AI suite. AI Photo Editor, Circle to Search, and AI Live Translate are also here.
It also has a built-in trackpad, which has a decent size and feel, but there’s an annoying small delay when moving the cursor, which persists even when you adjust the speeds or switch to an external mouse. Let’s hope a future software update can fix that.
The S Pen is still as good as before. Air Actions, Air Command, Air View, Quick Notes, and S Pen to Text features are still here. There are sketch apps built-in that let you unleash your creativity.
Adding an in-display fingerprint scanner adds a premium feel to the device. It’s fast and accurate, but having it on the lock/power switch — like what others are doing — would’ve been more convenient. In case you don’t like it, you can also use the Face Unlock security feature.
Let’s switch back to standard Android UI, where it suffers the same problems that other Android tablets have. There’s a poor use of space and everything looks stretched out.
However, sticking with the stock UI is actually better for doing small-screen activities like browsing social media feeds, taking pictures, and more. For everything else, you’re better off switching to DeX.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra easily has the best interface for an Android tablet. It’s not perfect, but Samsung DeX, the accessories it comes with, and its AI features make it one of the most complete tablets in the Android space.

Cameras
Like everything else on this device, Samsung went above and beyond in the camera department. There’s a 13-megapixel main camera on the back and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide. On the front, we have two 12-megapixel shooters, one with an ultra-wide lens.
The ultra-wide lenses seem unnecessary, but the front-facing one could be useful for online presentations.
Now, onto image quality. The 13-megapixel main camera is great for a tablet but definitely is no match to proper flagship smartphones. The colors are nice, the contrast is expressive, and the dynamic range is passable. Details could be sharper, but it’s enough for scanning documents. Low-light shots held up pretty well, too.
Details are a little worse on the 12-megapixel ultra-wide, barrel distortion could be improved, but the overall image quality is often as good as the main one.
The two 12-megapixel front cameras can capture skin tones well, with the right exposure and contrast. Good for selfies and more than enough for video calls.
Samsung didn’t have to put out in the camera department, but I appreciate the extra lenses on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra.
Battery and Charging
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra has an equally gigantic 11,200mAh battery. It has support for 45W wired charging but, despite the price tag, it didn’t come with a charging adapter.
We got good scores on our tests. It lasted 8 hours and 8 minutes in PCMark’s battery test — a loop of synthetic tasks until the battery drops to 20% (50% volume and brightness, WiFi and Bluetooth Off). It then lasted 10 hours and 2 minutes in our 1080p YouTube video loop test.
In a more real-world test, I was able to comfortably work in a coffee shop, writing articles, with multiple tabs open, and only consume about 10% of battery per hour. Compared to a proper Windows laptop, you can leave your battery anxiety behind.
What’s worse than the lack of a charger is the slow charging speeds. Samsung insists on capping their charging speeds to 45W, while most of the competition is going 65W and up. On the upside, charging times wasn’t really that bad in our tests as a full charge only took two hours from completely dead.
- 15mins: 0-12%
- 30mins: 26%
- 1hr 30mins: 81%
- 2hrs 1mins: FULL
Verdict
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is the pinnacle of Android tablets, but that doesn’t mean it’s for everyone.
You really have to make sure you need that large 14-inch screen to justify carrying a tablet this large and a price tag that’s more expensive than most ultrabooks in the market. Plus, you need extra patience when charging as it’s still capped at 45W for some reason.
But if you really do need an Android tablet with a gigantic display, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is definitely the best one you can get. The enormous screen and desktop-like Samsung DeX UI make for a killer multitasking experience like no other.
The solid performance and generous RAM and storage should satisfy your needs, the battery capacity and power efficiency ensure you can work for hours without a charger, while the feature-dense keyboard case and S Pen aid in multitasking and unleashing your creativity.
Without a doubt, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is one of the best tablets you can get in the market right now. Just make sure you can justify its size and price tag, if not, then you might be better off with a smaller or cheaper tablet, or an actual Windows or Mac laptop.
