The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is finally official in the Philippines. It’s available in two sizes: 8 inches and 9.7 inches.
Launched roughly a month ago, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is a top-tier tablet that sports an octa-core Exynos 5433 chip (1.9GHz quad-core plus 1.3GHz quad-core) and 3GB of RAM. Android 5.0 Lollipop runs out of the box. There’s an 8-megapixel camera at the back and a 2.1-megapixel camera in front. The home button also functions as a fingerprint scanner.
As an entertainment device, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 boasts a Super AMOLED display. Its adaptive functionality automatically adjusts the gamma, saturation and sharpness for the best content viewing experience. Furthermore, it features a reading mode that makes the display suitable for long reading sessions without straining your eyes.
As a productivity device, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 comes pre-installed with Microsoft Office Solutions. Its bundled anti-malware software ensures that your sensitive informative are kept confidential. The tablet offers multitasking features, such as the ability to run and view two apps side by side.
Aside from the two screen size options, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 differs in available storage (32GB vs. 64GB), connectivity options (Wi-Fi only vs. Wi-Fi with mobile data) and color (black vs. white). The 8-inch variant comes with a 4000mAh battery, whereas the 9.7-inch has a 5870mAh battery. The tablet is one of the thinnest and lightest ever made by Samsung, making it a suitable companion for travel.
The official Philippine price of the 8-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is Php24,990, whereas the 9.7-inch version costs Php29,990. Tablet purchases from August 22 to December 31 come with free book cover, three-month subscription to iflix and a prepaid Smart SIM card with complimentary five hours of Internet access (for every month up to six months since activation). All in all, the freebies are worth up to Php3,000.
