Samsung has decided to bring back the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, introducing a new 2024 iteration of the popular tablet. This marks the third release for the device, which initially hit the market in 2020 and was then updated in 2022 with a refreshed chipset. Interestingly, Samsung Romania has already begun selling the latest model, despite the absence of an official announcement.
The 2024 version maintains several core features from its predecessors: a 10.4-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 2000 x 1200 pixels, a bundled S Pen for creativity and productivity, and 7,040mAh battery. Samsung continues to offer both Wi-Fi and LTE variants, catering to those who need connectivity while on the move and might not always have access to tethering options.
Under the hood, the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2024 comes with an updated octa-core processor featuring 2.4GHz and 2.0GHz cores. Although Samsung hasn’t specified the chipset, there are unofficial reports suggesting it could be the Exynos 1280. This is an upgrade from the 2022 model, which was equipped with either a Snapdragon 732G or 720G, offering slightly lower speeds of 2.3GHz and 1.8GHz.
The base model includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, and it retains the microSD slot for expandable storage. A 128GB variant is expected but wasn’t listed on Samsung’s website as of writing.
In terms of software, the tablet launches with Android 14 and One UI 6.1, showcasing Samsung’s commitment to delivering the latest software—a significant jump from the 2022 model’s original Android 12 and One UI 4.0 setup, which has since been updated to One UI 6.0.
Users can anticipate up to 14 hours of video playback and between 12 to 13 hours of web browsing, depending on whether they’re using the LTE or Wi-Fi model. While charging speed details have not been disclosed, previous models were limited to only 15W charging.
Available in Mint and Gray, the 2024 Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is currently only offered in the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration. At this time, pricing details for neither the Wi-Fi nor LTE versions have been made public. We’re keeping an eye out for availability and pricing in other markets, and although promotional images hint at a third color option, it’s not listed for sale yet.
