TCL is trying to make some noise in the mobile industry once again with the new TCL P80 Ultra.
The TCL P80 Ultra features the brand’s pioneering NxtPaper technology. It provides paper-like eye comfort that adapts to any ambient lighting conditions. Its 6.83-inch AMOLED panel uses circular polarization, instead of the usual linear polarization filter.
TCL also added a homogenizing film to the display so whites are really whites, and don’t come from the traditional red, blue, and green sub-pixels.
The company also boasted how the screen only has 2.9% blue light emission, which was achieved without affecting image quality. There’s also the Nano Crystal Shield Glass, which is said to be the best anti-glare glass in the market.
There’s even a dedicated NxtPaper Key, so you can quickly activate the e-reader mode.
Moving on from the display, the P80 Ultra is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Elite processor, with 8GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage. A 5,800mAh battery with 45W wired charging supplies the power.
A 50-megapixel main camera is on the back, joined by a 50-megapixel 3x periscope lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 32-megapixel on the front for selfies. It will receive 4 OS upgrades and 7 years of security patches.
The TCL P80 Ultra is now listed in Europe with a starting price of EUR549 (~Php39,900).
