On a recent Facebook post, Vivo Philippines discreetly launched the new Vivo Y81i here in the country.

The Vivo Y81i is a more toned-down and affordable version of the Y81. This cheaper variant retains the iPhone X-like design that the latter has, with the same 6.22-inch 1520 x 720 HD+ resolution screen.

Since they sport the same design and screen size, it’s hard to tell these two devices apart just by looking at them. They also have identical specs across the board as the only main compromise here is the processor used.

The Vivo Y81i swaps the MediaTek Helio P22 chip with a slightly underpowered Helio A22 quad-core processor. This makes the Y81i the first Vivo device to sport this entry-level chipset. It will also have a trimmed down 2GB of memory and 16GB of expandable storage.

On the upside, the battery capacity is still at 3,260mAh, so expect an identical or even better battery performance from this thing. The camera setup is also the same from the Y81, with a 5-megapixel shooter on the front and a 13-megapixel one on the back.
