Xiaomi is back in the tablet business with the new Pad 5 and 5 Pro.
Launched alongside the Mi Mix 4, the Xiaomi Pad 5 and 5 Pro have 11-inch FHD+ 120Hz screens and multi-screen support for more than 300 apps that maximize the large display. They also have TrueTone technology that applies the right color and brightness judging by the ambient light.
For the complete viewing and gaming experience, both models will sport quad speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos for a stereo setup.
Both models come with flagship processors. The Pro model comes with Snapdragon 870, while the vanilla Pad 5 went with Snapdragon 850.
The camera setup is a little diverse between models. The Xiaomi Pad 5 has a single 13-megapixel camera, the Pad 5 Pro WiFi-only adds an 8-megapixel ultra-wide and 5-megapixel depth sensor, while the Pad 5 Pro 5G upgrades the main shooter to a 50-megapixel sensor.
Going with the Pro model also entitles you to an 8,600mAh battery with a faster 67W charging, while the non-Pro has a marginally larger 8,720mAh battery but settles for a still respectable 33W charging.
Both models will also work with Xiaomi’s proprietary magnetic keyboard case that comes in different colors to match your style. They also work with Xiaomi’s magnetic stylus, which attaches and charges easily on the side of the device.
The Xiaomi Pad 5 6GB/128GB is priced at CNY1,999 (around Php15,500) while the 6GB/256GB is at CNY2,299 (around Php17,800). The Mi Pad 5 Pro WiFi-only 6GB/128GB is at CNY2,499 (around Php19,400), 6GB/256GB for CNY2,799 (around Php21,700), while the top-tier 5G model with 8GB/256GB is at CNY3,499 (around Php27,200).
They are now available in China while release details in the Philippines are yet to be known.
