ZTE has announced the successor to last year’s Axon.

The Axon series is a set of high performance but affordable smartphones. Like its predecessor, the Axon 7 aims to offer a high-end experience similar to other popular mobile manufacturers at a price that’s a bit easier on the pocket.

The ZTE Axon is built with an all-metal body that has subtle curves on the edges which make it comfortable to hold. BMW’s Designworks, a firm known for creating a plethora of designs for different kinds, also had a hand in crafting the device.

Axon 7 will feature the latest and most powerful Qualcomm chipset, to help it run anything and everything the user might throw at it. Multitasking shouldn’t be a problem, as it’ll come in both 4GB and 6GB RAM variants. ZTE also placed a fingerprint sensor at the back of the handset.

It also has a new dual-speaker system with Dolby surround sound set up in front, which is said to rival HTC’s BoomSound in terms of volume and audio clarity. There’s quad HD AMOLED display covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 4, built specifically for the new Daydream VR. The Axon 7 will be launched with a VR headset included.
