Popular printer brand Epson has announced the launch of its professional-grade photo printer, the Epson SureColor P20530 (SC-P20530) Photo Graphic Production Printer, targeting professional photographers and graphic designers.
The Epson SureColor SC-P20530 is an upgrade from the previous SC-P20070, promising higher efficiency and print precision. It features a broader range of colors, deeper black reproduction capabilities, and reduced plastic usage, resulting in superior print quality, faster print speeds, lower power consumption, and less waste production.
Faster speed, better print quality, and expanded range of colors
The new SC-P20530 features an advanced 12-color UltraChrome PRO ink set, which includes new orange, green, and violet inks, providing more accurate Pantone color output compared to its predecessor.
In addition to the color improvements, the new photo printer features two extra lines on Epson’s PrecisionCore MicroTFP Printhead to support a wider ink set.
It also features various shades of blacks and grays, including photo black, matte black, and multiple gray inks, which can be accessed through the dedicated channels in the printer.
Not to mention the Black Enhanced overcoat (BEO) feature can make black appear even darker, providing greater depth and contrast without the need for an exclusive ink.

Sustainability and efficiency
Epson is committed to sustainability and reducing its environmental impact, which it demonstrates through its ink cartridges and hardware.
The SC-P20530 uses only 22.1 grams of plastic per liter, 92.3% less plastic per liter than traditional ink cartridges. The ink pack wastes are also 80% lighter and 90% smaller per liter in volume. Over 30% of the printer’s hardware is also made from recycled plastic.
The printer also showed a 50% reduction in CO2 emissions per liter of ink compared to traditional cartridges, based on its life cycle assessment (LCA).
Improved functionality and accessibility
The upgraded printer now features a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, an increase from the 2.7-inch display found in its predecessor.
The Epson Cloud Solution Port still provides an all-in-one printing management and features an auto take-up system when handling large print jobs. Adobe Postscript is also an optional feature for handling PDF files and raster image processing (RIP).
The printer also features a wide carriage, measuring 64 inches, which is ideal for supporting various media types, including bond paper, photo paper, transparent film, backlight film roll, and enhanced low-adhesive synthetic paper. It also includes a high-speed auto-cutter for handling roll media.
Epson SureColor SC-P20530 also offers enhanced, easy-access self-maintenance and stable print quality, along with a dust cover that prevents clogs and protects prints from dust for a better overall printing experience.
