GMA Network finally launched its own take on a DTV receiver box that’s been appropriately called the GMA Affordabox.

As what we’ve seen before, the GMA Affordabox is the network giant’s take to its rival’s ABS-CBN TVPlus. As the name suggest, it’s indeed more affordable with its price of only Php888, while the competition costs Php1,499.

This receiver will give you access to crystal-clear reception on GMA’s flagship channel, as well as the GMA News TV, and the Heart of Asia channel that features tagalog sub-ed versions of telenovelas and dramas from abroad.

You can check out the full list of channels and supported locations of GMA Affordabox here.

It should also give you access to ABS-CBN’s free channels. But, exclusive channels like KBO and MYX will be only available to the TVPlus.

Other than access to DTV channels, the GMA Affordabox can also act as a multimedia player that can play videos and music from an external drive via the USB port.

You can also record clips from the GMA, GMA News TV, and Heart of Asia channels. Moreover, the digibox can display nationwide emergency warnings and can automatically turn on once an emergency alert is received.
