Xiaomi is launching the inevitable follow-up to the Redmi 9 series.
Since the Redmi Note 9 line-up came out, the arrival of cheaper models was also expected. A few months after that, the Redmi 9 came out. And now, we also found a sign of the cheaper model of the series, the Redmi 9A.
The device was spotted on Xiaomi Philippines’ brochure for July-August 2020, signalling its emminent release in the next few weeks.
Other than the Coming Soon sign, the listing also reveals the key features of the upcoming device. Apparently, it will feature an unheard 2.0GHz MediaTek Helio G25 octa-core processor — making the Redmi 9A the first device to use this latest chipset.
It will also feature a 6.53-inch HD+ display, a 5,000mAh battery, 5-megapixel selfie camera, and a single 13-megapixel shooter on the back. The design is quite similar to the Redmi 8A. The official release date is yet to be announced to stay tuned for that.
