The new app called Adobe Scan aims to make scanning documents incredibly easy. As the name suggests, this new app from giant software company lets you take pictures of any tangible document and turn it into an editable PDF.

The app uses their own AI and machine learning framework called Adobe Sensei. The technology provides the boundary detection, auto-crop and capture, perspective correction and auto-clean for the app. This helps create a clear and readable PDF.

Adobe Scan isn’t actually the first app of its kind. We’ve already seen other developers come up with the same idea. Even Google Drive has the same feature built-in. However, this app’s claim to fame is it works with Adobe Document Cloud. This means that once you’ve scanned the document, it will be automatically synced with all your connected devices like a computer or tablet.

I can see this useful both for school and work. Students who would take pictures of their teacher’s powerpoint presentations would surely appreciate this app. They can organize the pictures to a more readable and structured review material. On the other hand, professionals can easily scan important documents or faxed materials.

For a full experience, you’ll have to pay extra for the Adobe Acrobat. The Acrobat would then let you edit those PDF files. But if you’re all about scanning, the Adobe Scan is now available for free on both Android and iOS devices.
