Nintendo Switch online service - NoypiGeeks

Nintendo will start charging a USD20 yearly subscription fee for the Switch’s online service starting 2018. And as per the company, they will be launching a smartphone companion app for Nintendo Switch Online Service.

Nintendo Switch owners can enjoy free online play until the new and improved service officially comes out in 2018. The Nintendo Switch Online Service subscription fee will cost $20 per year. There’s also a one-month option for $3.99 and $7.99 for three months.

The online service will make your gaming experience more connected. Other than the multiplayer access, the service will let you invite friends to play online, set play appointments and chat during online matches in compatible games.

Ironically, the Nintendo Switch Online Service wouldn’t be used directly on the console. Instead, you’ll utilize the feature using a smartphone app. The application will then work hand in hand with the actual console.

Other than the online multiplayer benefits, subscribers will also have access to Nintendo’s library of classic games with added online compatibility. The wide variety of classic games include Super Mario Bros. 3, Balloon Fight, and Dr. Mario. Nintendo said that more classic titles will be announced in the future.
