Before the rumors for a dedicated Facebook Gaming App came out, the social media giant’s gaming platform is already a thing.
In fact, Facebook Gaming continues to gain steam with an increasing number of streamers and viewership. Especially now that more people are resorting to different types of entertainment while stuck at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As per a report, the Facebook Gaming app was not supposed to come out until June. But due to the overnight increase in demand, it’s expected to launch on an earlier date, which is said to be on April 20.
Facebook executive Fidji Simo said that gaming has become a proper way for people to connect and communicated, which is why it makes sense for a social media giant like Facebook them to invest in it. Game streaming is a form of interactive entertainment, and not just passive.
With the Facebook Gaming app, the company will give a large focus on the game streaming community and will curate all the content related to it.
