One of the first and most popular battle royale mobile games in the world, Rules of Survival, is shutting down.

The announcement was made on the official Rules of Survival Facebook page. The post writes that the game will cease operations on June 27, 2022, at 15:00:00 (UTC+8).

After that date, players can no longer access the game servers, and all the user account data and character information — including but not limited to characters, Diamonds, items, and materials — will be wiped.

The developer is offering refunds for users who have unused diamonds. The refunds can be claimed from June 28 at 10 AM to September 28 at 6 PM (UTC+8).

Moreover, the developer is apologetic over the shutdown and has thanked players for their tremendous support.

For a quick background, Rules of Survival was first released in 2017 during the heat of battle royale games, beating PUBG Mobile to the punch. It was created by Chinese giant NetEase for iOS and Android, and even came with a PC version.

The developers didn’t provide a reason for the sudden shutdown, but the Facebook post was filled with comments from players sharing their memories of the game.
