Amazon unveiled that its 4th gen Amazon Echo Dot International Version and 4th gen Amazon Echo International Edition smart speakers will be available in the Philippines directly from Amazon.com.

These smart speakers aren’t really new products. Originally launched back in 2014, the Amazon Echo has been in the market for 8 years, while the Echo Dot (2016) is already 5-years-old. However, it’s only now that PH is getting the international versions with full Amazon support.

Amazon says smart features of the Echo speakers will now work locally, with the addition of news sources like ABS-CBN, OneNews, News5-TV5, and more. Alexa, the AI assistant embed within the devices, is now knowledgeable of local history, holidays, sports, celebrities, places, and many more. In addition, built-in Spotify support has been added together with local radio stations like 96.3 Easy Rock and 101.1 Yes! The Best.

Fortunately, Amazon will be giving those who have existing units of the Amazon Echo smart speakers the new localized features as well.

The Amazon Echo Dot is the cheaper among the two, as it only costs $49.99. On the other hand, the regular Echo is priced at $99.99. When you order it from Amazon’s website, shipping them directly to the Philippines will cost around $20, while the actual shipping will take around 2-4 weeks.
