HUAWEI has unveiled the successor to its travel speakers. Meet the new HUAWEI Sound Joy 2.
The HUAWEI Sound Joy 2 has noticeably been stripped of the Devialet branding, a French company that specializes in speaker drivers and amplifiers. Instead, this new one claims to have a quad-unit “HUAWEI SOUND System” that can blast up to 85dBA of music that’s capable of “blanketing an entire basketball court.”
It features a 20W oblong-shaped full-range speaker, a 10W tweeter, and two passive radiators on each side that help improve bass and prevent sound distortion.
The design is pretty much the same. It has a cylindrical shape that’s easy to carry around, with holes at the bottom so the second radiator has room the breathe when the speaker is standing upright.
HUAWEI kept the same 8,800mAh battery as its predecessor, which still last for up to 26 hours. It also supports 40W USB-C fast charging that lets you listen to music for up to an hour with just a 10-minute charge.
There’s also the Light Show on top that syncs to the tune of the music and has smart features like Tap to Transfer and Shake for Stereo if you have another Sound Joy speaker lying around.
It comes in three colors: Isle Blue, Obsidian Black, and Thriving Green. Pricing and release details are yet to be known.
