Samsung held its annual Unpacked event and released a couple of brand new hardware, including the latest Galaxy Buds Pro.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro is the company’s top-tier TWS earphones that will rival the AirPods Pro and others. It has Intelligent Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which takes ANC technology to a new level.
It comes with four Ambient Mode levels for the perfect amount of isolation and transparency, depending on where you are.
Voice Detect intelligently switches from ANC to Ambient/transparent sound when it hears your voice, no need to press a button.
Samsung also took a pretty different route for the sound driver design. Unlike most earphones, it has AKG-tuned 2-way speakers with 11mm woofers for the bass and 6.5mm tweeters for the treble.
For better call quality, the Galaxy Buds Pro has a mic mesh and chamber to minimize wind noise.
Dolby Head Tracking and Atmos technology rivals Apple’s Spatial audio tech providing a 360 surround-like experience.
For the hardware, the buds are IPX7-rated for water protection. The buds themselves look identical to the initial Galaxy Buds, with a square battery case available in Phantom Black, Phantom Silver, and Phantom Violet, which matches the also-new Galaxy S21 series.
Speaking of battery, the company claims it can last for 5 hours or up to 18 hours (with battery case) with ANC on and 8 hours or up to 28 hours with ANC off. It has wireless charging and works with Samsung PowerShare. A quick 5-minute charge can already provide an hour of music.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro has a price of Php9,990 in the Philippines and will be available on January 29. Those who will pre-order it from January 18 to 28 will get a free wireless charging pad valued at Php1,499.
