Do you take the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway (MCEX) for your daily travel? We’ve got some bad news for you.

The Toll Regulatory Board announced the price hike on SLEX tell fees starting November 3, Friday. Class 1 vehicles coming from Alabang exiting Calamba, Laguna will see a toll rate increase of Php10 for Class 1 vehicles, Class 2 will now be charged Php20 more, while entry for Class 3 vehicles will cost Php30 more.

Meanwhile, those coming from Sto. Tomas, Batangas going to Calamba will be charged an additional amount of Php4 for Class 1, Php6 for Class 2, and Php8 for Class 3.

Also, MCEX rates will increase by Php1 for Class 1, Php2 for Class 2, and Php3 for Class 3. That said, make sure your Autosweep has enough balance the next time you pass through.

Back in September 13, TRB authorized the price increase requested by the SMC SLEX, Inc., for the toll price increase. TRB said that they will be implementing the price increase in two tranches to help mitigate the effects of inflation. The first one will be done this year, while the second one is scheduled for next year, 2024.

This increase marks SLEX’s first periodic toll rate adjustment since 2011.
