When you think of the future, you probably envision flying cars, human-like robots, and artificial intelligence. Indeed, the future is here as more companies are gearing towards creating futuristic products.
One of them is XPENG, a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer known for its electric cars and innovative products. The brand might sound new to you, but it has been around for more than a decade.
XPENG invited us and other international tech and automotive media outfits to attend its first Global Brand Night in Hong Kong where the company discussed its current and future plans. We also get to see its current electric car lineup and the XPENG’s “flying car.”
What is XPENG?

Founded in 2014, XPENG is a Chinese automobile brand headquartered in Guangzhou, China. The brand is marketed towards consumers who are into high technology and AI-driven innovation in automobiles.
According to XPENG’s CEO, Xiaopeng He, XPENG always had the vision to be more than just any typical technology company. Its mission is to be an AI-driven automotive company that leads in making technology accessible to consumers around the globe.

In 2024, XPENG operates in over 30 countries and regions and leads the European premium EV market. Since its existence in 2014, XPENG has nine global R&D hubs worldwide with more than 24,000 tech talents across the globe.

XPENG X9 2025
Alongside the XPENG Global Brand Night, the company also launched the 2025 XPENG X9 globally. This all-electric MPV is the brand’s newest flagship product and is expected to be available in select markets worldwide.

This seven-seater EV is based on XPENG’s latest 800-volt architecture that makes charging faster with 10-80% of the charging time to be under 12 minutes.
It also features a wide legroom for passengers and a huge customizable smart cabin. It also has professional-grade seat massage for comfort, a large 21.4-inch entertainment display, and surround sound.
XPENG Aerhot: Modular Flying Car

XPENG also showed their first ever flying car, the XPENG Aerhot. This vehicle looks like any other car but inside it is a detachable aircraft. It is like owning a car and an aircraft in one. In just one-click, the aircraft will automatically separate from the main vehicle.

The main vehicle or the “mothership” as they call it, is a 4-seater car that you can drive using your standard driver’s license. It comes with electric foldable mirrors, and dual-swing doors.
On the other hand, the aircraft has six rotors with foldable blades and arms. The XPENG Aerhot has a combined range of over 1,000 km.
According to XPENG, the Aeroht will be available to consumers in 2026.
XPENG Turing AI chip

Another thing that XPENG highlighted during the event is its very own AI chip. Due to the lack of efficiency of generic chips, they created their proprietary Turing AI Chip. Made specifically for large AI models, Turing AI chip provides three times more computing power than traditional chips.
Moreover, it’s the world’s first multi-domain AI chip that is compatible with vehicles, flying cars and, robotics. The said chip lessens waste because of its efficiency while catering to the needs of advanced AI model demands.
Humanoid Robot

XPENG also showcased one of its innovations which is the humanoid robot. According to the company, the said robot resembles humans in a lot of ways.
First, its size and weight are similar to that of a human being. The robot is 178cm tall and weighs 70kg, with full-body articulation. Moreover, it comes with a Turing AI chip, an Eagle-Eye Vision System that provides 720-degrees of panoramic perception.
XPENG said that unlike other robots, the ones that they have will serve as an alternative to humans in factories. They have already started deploying the said humanoid robots in its factory in Guangzhou and are said to be on track for mass production next year.
Will XPENG EVs and “flying car” be available in the Philippines soon? XPENG did not answer exactly when, but they are looking into the market.
